Why do you smile all the time?

In today’s blog, I’m going to go personal as this is the number one question I get asked. Why do you smile all the time?

This question used to bother me because it was always asked as if my smile was something to be ashamed of or I was doing something wrong by smiling.  That was just me giving into the little voice inside me interpreting what they were saying into a negative cut against me.  I’ve since realised that people perceive different things in my smile that have nothing to do with me.  For instance, some people interpret it as I’m laughing at them and other’s see it as a gift.

My smile is basically just that – a smile.  I do it because I’m content and happy with life.  I have had overwhelming challenges in my life to the point where I’ve had those moments when it’s the big ugly cry on the floor.  Through it all, I’ve learned that the next day the sun comes up and there is still hope.  So, I laugh at trials because overall there is always humour and blessings to be found in them.  And I walk around with a smile on my face because it doesn’t matter what happens to me, I still know who I am and I’m content with myself.

Learning to be this way took time, energy and pain but it was worth it.  I believe you are able to find peace for yourself as well.  If you need help achieving it, please reach out as we are here to help.
